"I'll have what she's having!"
As you embark on the last quarter of the year, it’s a great time to check in with yourself. How are you, truly? This is a safe space – you can answer honestly. Do you feel alone in your career, unsure of what’s next, or exhausted by the weight of trying to do it all? Do you find yourself ruminating over your weaknesses instead of recognizing the strengths that make you uniquely powerful?
If any of this resonates, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate this journey by yourself. I know because I’ve been in your (super stylish, I’m sure) shoes. My own feelings of self-doubt, loneliness, and frustration in my career progression led me to enlist the help of a mastermind group and executive coach. These experiences helped me uncover and embrace my unique strengths, leading to greater confidence and clarity. I founded JMW Collective to bring these resources within reach for more women.
Through JMW Collective, I work with professionals who feel isolated, helping them find community and connection. I guide those who don’t see a clear path to promotion, empowering them to carve out their own. And I coach women to stop dwelling on what they think they lack and, instead, embrace their strengths to become more effective, authentic leaders.
Whether through personalized coaching, mastermind groups, workshops, or speaking engagements, I offer solutions designed for women like you—ready to lead, but just needing the right support.
When women support each other, they not only find fulfillment but also become the kind of leaders their organizations can’t do without.
Ladies, the time to invest in yourself is now.
As Estelle Reiner famously said in one of the best fall movies, When Harry Met Sally, “I’ll have what she’s having.” I want more women to feel empowered to say the same.
Your next level of leadership is waiting—let’s unlock it together!
Welcome to the 6th edition of Leadership Couture! Get ready to try on new ideas, take off what doesn't fit, and confidently wear your Leadership Couture!
Stay stylish, stay courageous, and as always, lead with intention.
Your Leadership Stylist,

The Name, Connie
Are you expecting a baby girl or do you know someone who is? If so, is the name, Connie, on the short list of potential names? It just might be after you read this article on Connie Chung! Connie's impressive journalism career dates back to the early 1970's. Her husband of 40 years, Maury Povich (yes, that Maury!), calls her the Jackie Robinson of television news. She has quite the following. In fact, a few years ago, she learned of a "special sorority" of young women who were named Connie after her in the 70's, 80's, and 90's by their fan-girl parents. Connie has a new memoir out that will likely show up on my "What I'm Loving" list soon. In the meantime, Style Up with this article from Time on Connie Chung.

Hiring Moms
Ok, I know this audience already knew hiring moms was a good idea, but for everyone else...check out and share the 2024 report by The Mom Project. The new report highlights how hiring moms gives companies a competitive edge by bringing in highly skilled, adaptable, and resilient talent. Moms excel in time management, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence—"power skills" honed through parenthood. Don't you love the reframing of "soft skills" to "power skills"? Companies that tap into this underutilized talent pool not only boost productivity and innovation but also foster a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Want a game-changing advantage? Hire Moms, because #MomsGetS#*TDone!
*You'll need to download the report. It's worth it, but just don't take my word for it. Serena Williams agrees. She's a Strategic Advisor to The Mom Project.

What I'm Loving...
on the page,
No offense to Walt Whitman, Robert Frost, or my high school teachers, but I wasn't properly introduced to poetry until I was 39. Anyone else feel the same way? I now devour Mary Oliver, Kate Baer, and Nikita Gill. Wild Embers by Gill is a treasure which explores and stokes the fire within us all. My favorite line in the book is from the poem, Witch, and it reads "you cannot burn away what has always been aflame." Check her out on IG.
in my ears,
Deb Boulanger is an entrepreneur whisperer! She leverages her corporate experience to help women launch and scale businesses. She doesn't stop there though. She's on a personal mission to close the entrepreneurial gender pay gap. Did you know that on average, women entrepreneurs earn 30 cents to the dollar of their male counterparts? And, I thought the wage gap in the corporate world was bad at 75 - 80 cents on the dollar. Whether you're growing a business or looking to increase your business savvy, I highly recommend Deb's podcast, Life After Corporate. Start with the most recent episode featuring Patty Farmer on brand differentiation in the age of AI.
and founded by a woman.
For the record, I will be forwarding this newsletter to my loved ones when they ask what I'd like for Christmas this year. I've been dropping hints in plain sight. Last month, it was the DVF In Charge necklace. This month, it's a pair of Sneex. Designed by women for women, Sara Blakely is using her business prowess to revolutionize yet another product - high heels. She writes on her website, "Sneex are my love letter to every woman who has taken her shoes off at a party, who wears flats to work with heels in her bag, who thought her days of wearing heels were over." I'm here for it - what do you think?
